The story behind the name of our blog…
This
tagline started back when my husband, Aaron, and I were first dating. We were
with a friend trying to get to another friend’s wedding in Provo Canyon. We got
lost and more lost and were driving around Provo trying to find it when our
friend called out, “Adventures in Provo” in a funny voice. Ever since then
whenever things get crazy, or we get lost, or we’re in a new place we both call
out, “Adventures with Camping, Adventures in San Francisco, or Adventures out
Grocery Shopping” (I’m sure ya get the idea). When Aaron and I were in San
Francisco, at the Musee Mecanique, the old museum with vintage games and
displays, we had this key chain made (kind of hard to see, but as you can tell
I definitely love San Francisco). The point is: life is an adventure and the
best thing about ours is having each other. Our next big adventure comes this
September when it will be Aaron and my five year anniversary and we go to the UK and Ireland! Stay tuned!

Red Velvet Crinkles
How many did I eat…3…5, 6…probably more? I had been wanting
to make these for a while. They looked cute and easy. And somehow every time I
make cookies I double it and have to bring it somewhere. I brought them to my brother
and sister in law’s going away to Florida party. Aaron and I decided to make
Sunday lunch for them before they left that same night to make the long drive.
We made my “secret weapon,” CafĂ© Rio quesadillas with our fave homemade guac
and salsa. I will need to get the quesadillas and salsa up here soon! Anyway
back to cookies, yeah they were scrumptious and all the little kids were
walking around with powdered sugar on their face…adorbs! Looking for something
to whip up on fly? Grab any kind of cake mix and make some crinkle cookies.
Boxed cake mixes make fabulous homemade Oreos!
Cheesecake Fruit Salad
I was asked to bring a fruit salad to my niece’s baby blessing. It was the perfect thing to bring as I had just found “the secret to fruit salad” on Pinterest. Cheesecake pudding mix dumped in with the fruit juices to make a delish, light, subtle flavor filled dressing. The other fruit salads were no match. I used my favorite fruit, pineapple (including the juice), red and green grapes, strawberries, and blueberries. It was a superb combination of fruit.
Nutella No Bake Cheesecake
Extremely simple. I thought this would be a perfect dessert for our tacos and guacamole night. It was. I whipped it up and stuck it in the fridge and a few hours later we all had a piece. I found the recipe here. I added more Nutella, used milk chocolate chips, and made my own crust out of crushed up chocolate graham crackers and butter.
